DevNews S1E5 — Neuralink, Nvidia, Samsung’s Mobile Memory Breakthrough, and a Terrible TikTok Trend 😞

Check out the latest episode of DevNews today!

This week, Saron and I talk about a few developing tech news stories that I think you'll find relevant:

  • A horrible, insensitive, and disheartening "trend" on TikTok that is certainly in violation of any decent Code of Conduct.**
  • Nvidia's new graphics cards, which are based on their new Ampere GPU architecture.
  • Samsung's emerging memory chip, which is made using extreme ultraviolet lithography — possibly a real breakthrough in the field!
  • Elon Musk's "skull FitBit", Neuralink, which was recently presented via a demo wherein the brain-monitoring device was used on three pigs.

While the Neuralink news does sound a bit like a dystopian version of the Three Little Pigs, it does have the potential to be a real game-changer. To shed some more light on this news and its impact, Saron and I were joined by AJ Keller, co-founder of Neurosity, a neurotech company.

** Note: I encourage everyone to take a moment to read this letter from the woman affected by yet another abusive, ableist “trend” on TikTok. We included it in the show notes for today's episode.
