Important Usage Notes:👩💻
Monitoring Usage:
AWS provides a Billing and Cost Management Dashboard to track your usage and forecast costs. Setting up usage alarms can help prevent unexpected charges, though they aren’t foolproof.
Limitations:🙅♀️
The Free Tier is subject to limits that, when exceeded, can lead to charges. Be mindful of services that do not provide free tiers, like Amazon Route 53, or those that can incur high data transfer fees between AWS services.
Common Pitfalls:🤦♀️
Exceeding the free tier limits is easy, especially if you forget to shut down unused instances. AWS services like EC2 and S3 are often the culprits behind surprise bills.
Not all AWS services are free under the free tier, so users need to check each service's eligibility and limits regularly.🤷♀️
