Can You Trust Wayfair’s Product Descriptions?

Wayfair product descriptions tend to be, on the whole, very expressive and elaborate. How do they guarantee that what is written is what you get? Basically, Wayfair has pretty good descriptions. They have all the important information related to either size or content or even color. It does not imply that what is described is always going to pan out in real life, though. A buyer has to remember this always when the shopping is done.

One common issue with these is the color factor. Colors may vary on your computer screen. Let a blue couch look like the brightest shade known to man when it is actually much darker than that. That is sort of what happened to me when I ordered a rug. Well, it said in the description, "light grey," but when it came, that thing looked pretty beige. I returned it. That was pretty frustrating. Reviews from other buyers can help you with this. Many of them tend to include information about whether the color looked the same as in the description. Also, check customer-uploaded photos. Those really can give you a better feel for what something looks like in real life.

Another issue can be with the size and assembly. Wayfair has dimensions on the descriptions, but those can sometimes be unclear. For instance, I ordered a bookshelf that, from the pictures, looked tall and pretty wide. When it arrived, it was much smaller than I had perceived it to be. The measurements were right, but these pictures kind of boggled my mind, so go ahead and measure the area in which you are placing the product and compare that to the product's measurements. Also, follow the assembly instructions. Sometimes the things described to be easy are not really so easy. Check if you need a special tool, or if you will need extra hands.

Generally, it tends to be honest. One has to watch a little and go through the reviews. Pay attention to the color, size, and assembly. With that, know that what you buy is what you get. This cautious approach assures a smooth shopping experience with Wayfair.
