Zona radiata was found broken and liquefaction of yolk globules was evident with advancement in follicular atresia. Seasonal variation of parasitic infection has also been studied. Metacercaria infecting the vital organs showed seasonal variation with the highest values for prevalence and abundance during monsoon and mean intensity during winter. The lowest values for these descriptors were documented during the post-monsoon period.
Vulvovaginal health is important to women's overall health, fertility, sexuality, self-perception, self-confidence and intimacy. It is important to identify the existing perceptions and levels of knowledge about intimate care practices from women in different countries, and with different cultures, religions, and perspectives to help women overcome barriers to optimal intimate care.
An anonymous online survey about general and intimate hygiene routines/habits was distributed across 10 countries (England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russia, China, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand). The sample consisted of around 10,000 women (aged 18 to 60 years) recruited through an online panel.
The survey indicates that for many women, cleaning the intimate area is not just about hygiene, but also about taking care of themselves. Intimate care practices, performed daily, varies widely among the countries (from 38% to 91%). Italy, Philippines Portugal, Russia and Thailand were the countries with higher percentage. Intimate care is mainly associated with hygiene and health benefit, but interestingly women engage in intimate care more often with age. Most women worldwide are comfortable talking about female genitalia but still consider it a taboo topic, particularly among younger generations. Asian countries continue to carry negative connotations.
This survey is the first of its kind for number of women involved in this research and for multi-cultural design. Women perceive that practicing intimate care positively impacts their health and wellbeing. However, intimate care is still not one of the most frequent daily routines for many women.

There is controversy about the need to target the mucosa of the larynx and hypopharynx during radiotherapy (RT) for squamous cell carcinoma of an unknown primary site (SCCA-UP). By 1997, the policy in our department was to target only the oropharynx and nasopharynx in patients with SCCA-UP metastatic to the level II cervical nodes. The purpose of this study was to report the rate of cancer recurrence in the larynx or hypopharynx using an approach that excluded these areas from the RT target volumes.
The inclusion criteria for this study were RT in our department for SCCA-UP between January 1, 1997, and December 31, 2019; no history of surgery that could disrupt the cervical lymphatics; predominant adenopathy in level IIA; and neck stage N1-2c. We excluded N3 because the incidental dose to the larynx and hypopharynx is usually high in patients with a >6-cm nodal conglomerate.
The study population was comprised of 50 patients with a median follow-up after RT of 7.1 years. No patient developed recurrent cancer in a mucosal site (0/50), 2% (1/50) developed a neck recurrence in a high-dose area with synchronous distant metastases, and 2% (1/50) developed distant metastases with no evidence of local or regional recurrence.
When delivering RT for SCCA-UP metastatic predominantly to level IIA, it is not necessary to target the mucosa of the larynx or hypopharynx. The extent to which the incidental RT dose to these areas contributes to cancer control is not evaluated in this study.

The authors herein, propose a scoring system for the rapid assessment of the patients who have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Therefore, a systematic approach may be followed where the patients are categorised into two groups, namely, the low-risk group [LRG; score less then 5] and the high-risk group [HRG; score ≥ 5] based on this scoring system. Those classified as an HRG should be administered CCP therapy within 72h of a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 to neutralise the SARS-CoV-2 virus and prevent the occurrence of the cytokine storm. This in turn could help reduce the overall mortality in the recipients.
Spinal arachnoid web (SAW) is a rare condition characterized by focal thickening of the arachnoid membrane causing displacement and compression of the spinal cord with progressive symptoms and neurological deficits. Recent reports and clinical experience suggest that SAW is a distinct entity with specific radiological findings and treatment strategies distinguishable from other arachnopathies and potential differential diagnoses.
To better define the diagnostic and clinical features, treatment options and outcomes of surgically treated SAW.
Multicentric retrospective cohort study.
Twelve cases of SAW surgically treated at three different centers.
Self-reported and neurological outcome measurements (pain, sensory-motor deficits, vegetative dysfunctions) were assessed at follow-up timepoints.
Retrospective review of prospectively collected data on all patients surgically treated for SAW from three participating neurosurgical centers between 2014 and 2020. Clinicopathological data, including neurological presentation, radiological and histological findings and outcome data were analyzed.https://www.selleckchem.com/products/bay-1217389.html
