Chris Jarvis - Jul 15 - - Dev Community

It's week 29 of 2024. It's summer in the US and the temp is higher than an AWS bill.

What are your goals for the week?

  • What are you building?
  • What will be a good result by week's end?
  • What events are happening this week?
    • any suggestions for in person or virtual events?
  • Any special goals for the quarter?

Last Week's Goals

Last week was a short week, no local events. Didn't plan out too much for the week expected most people would be off Thursday and Friday.

  • [✅] Continue Job Search. Interesting one last week. I had an internal recruiter send a linkedIn connection request. It was for a great company with a good reputation. I check their profile for something in common we can chat about. Not much in common. I follow someone that used to work there but we're not connected on LinkedIn. I can't message them for insight on company or the recruiter. Then it gets weird, recruiter messages me but LinkedIn slaps a warning on it. Recruiter sent a message and an attachment. LinkedIn said don't open attachment. The message asks for my birth year. ok that's illegal for a interview. Avoid that guy. I realize I do know someone that works at said company. I DM them and ask about guy. They don't know him and couldn't find him in company Slack. Next morning dude's profile is gone so is the DM. so that was fun.
  • [✅] Project work.
  • [❌] Blog.
  • Events.
    • [✅] Deploy 2024. On Tuesday.
  • [✅] Run a goal setting thread on Virtual Coffee Slack.
