TOP 10 VS CODE EXTENSIONS πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Mince - Aug 3 - - Dev Community

So, guys I have always told you what my favorite extensions were inside Vs code. I have always got great response from you guys for these extensions. So, today we will do something different. We are going to rate the top 10 most popular Vs code extensions. How do we find them? It's simple go to the extensions tab and use the filter option to find the most popular extensions. However, we will be skipping all the extensions that help Vs code understand your code and assign colors to them such as Python, C/C++ and you get it right? Let's dive right in!

JUPYTER NOTEBOOK & JUPYTER RENDERER

So, this is not actually standing first guys. Python is the most popular vs code extension with 130 million downloads.

Bing told me that 14 million people use vs code. 😢

Following python are Pylance, Jupyter and C/C++ with well over 60 million downloads. However, my soul told me to include these two extensions in this list. I can't tell you how they work because I am don't how to use Jupyter. So, I give these extensions.

1/10 (grace marks for cool icons)

Live server

Well, now I have been using live server pretty much since I downloaded Vs code, and I never wanted to quit. I did not want to run some npm commands in the terminal just to get a live running application of mine when I can do it all in a click. This extension has more than 50 million users and I strongly recommend installing this extension right now. I give this a solid

10/10

Prettier

OfCourse, prettier! This is known as the must have vs code extension. The fact that the code will not be messy as before wins it all. It's got 47 million downloads, and I give it a solid

9/10

IntelliSense

It's developed by Microsoft, and it basically tells us something about "AI ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT" for JavaScript and python. It also has automatic AI code completion. I don't personally see myself using in the near future as I have already got my personal CODY. I really love using Cody. Let's see if Cody pops in the list sometime. But yeah, marks for the idea. It's got 44 million users

6/10

Python and jupyter again 😢

We have got two jupyter extensions and the python debugger. I don't use python so.... However, each one crossed just about 40 million users

1/10 (again, cool logos 😏)

Language support for Java Red hat

First of all, a really long name and second of all I hate JAVA. So, thumbs down

πŸ₯š/10

EsLint

Finally...... Something interesting. So, EsLint marks incorrection in our JavaScript code. Again, it's developed by Microsoft. You can implement it using npm. it's got 36 million downloads. I can use this in the near future

8/10

Docker

So, docker makes it easier to handle applications. I am not sure if it is a library or programming language but yeah, this extension supports the use of docker. By any chance if you follow fireship.io He uses docker all the time. So, I see myself in the near future learning both python and docker. Want a surprise? Even, docker is built by Microsoft. It stands over 34 million downloads

7/10

Cmake and Cmake tools

So, if you want to make an app that is going to be published in the wide-open internet. You will need to package it. SO, at least once in your lifetime as a great good programmer you will have to steal Cmake code I mean write Cmake code. Both these extensions Cmake and Cmake tools will basically help you in the writing of Cmake code. They are like debuggers. One of them - Cmake tools is developed by Microsoft. Again! They both stand at 35 million downloads.

6/10

Git lens

Git lens supercharges your experience of using git in Vs code. This is what they have written in the bio. It is basically improving and enhances the capabilities of using git and GitHub inside of the really great editor VS code. This is cool guys

9/10Β

The surprise

I want to tell you something

I run on a windows machine owned by Microsoft and write code in vs code owned by Microsoft and make a web page in C which is owned by Microsoft. I test my code in edge owned by Microsoft. I steal the code from Bing owned by Microsoft and finally post the code in GitHub owned by Microsoft. Now, I got a job in Microsoft

On this high note I want to announce something:

So recently I got bored and so started writing an e-book. I named this book Introvert, and this is the first time I am writing a book. It is going to be available in Wattpad, Inkitt and Maybe amazon kindle. Please support me in this fellow programmer
