How I quality assured our website thx to dev.to's users

A couple weeks ago I posted this article, and I got tons of valuable feedback, helping me improve the way we communicate our product a lot.

Typically when companies wants to improve their message they pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for a team of people to create a "focus group". Being a small startup, that's beyond our reach, so I figured "let's try the community" - And boy did they deliver. Thank you everybody who contributed, it helped us a lot.

I am writing this article for three reasons; First of all because of gratitude to those helping out. Second of all because I want to show how you can crowdsource things previously out of reach for small companies, and such leverage communities to provide real and tangible value. Third and foremost because I happen to have a very good friend who is a community manager and who were asked "What's the ROI of our community efforts" - Well, this one is for you Blake ... ;)

The next time you can answer; "hundred thousand dollars per hour" ;)
