Week 1 at HackQuest: My Telos Track Experience

My journey of knowing nothing about web 3.0 and cryptocurrency to creating my own FT, NFT, and even secret auction just in 7 days.

HackQuest : Co-Learning Camp-10
Without knowing what's in this camp I joined it, hoping i will at-least learn some basics about web3 and connect with some interesting people.
Before joining this camp I had no idea what blockchain is, let alone web 3.0
But now I'm here planning to submit on a web3 aia hackathon.

Day 1: Orientation and Web3 Fundamentals
Kicked off with orientation led by Kartikey Garg. He provided insights on choosing tracks and gave a solid introduction to Web3. Feeling energized to start my journey! And i went sleep.

Day 2: Web3 Basics Learning Track
Completed the Web3 Basics track.
Key takeaways:
Web2 Issues: Centralization and security flaws.
Web3 Overview: Decentralization through blockchain.
Key Domains: DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, SocialFi, GameFi, and DID.
Set up my MetaMask wallet—ready to engage with crypto!

Day 3: Advanced Topics
Dove into advanced concepts:
Ledgers: Centralized vs decentralized.
Blockchain Structure: Block headers and Merkle Patricia trees.
Encryption: Symmetric vs. asymmetric encryption and digital signatures.
Consensus Mechanisms: Explored PoW and PoS.

Day 4: Exploring Telos
Completed the Telos fundamentals course:
Features: DPoS, 0.5s block time, low fees.
Telos EVM: Ethereum-compatible, making dApp deployment a breeze.
TLOS Token: Used for fees, governance, and staking.

Day 5: Building a Fungible Token
Finished Solidity 102:
Built a fungible token and learned smart contract basics.
Successfully deployed on the Telos Testnet using HackQuest IDE.

Day 6/7: Creating NFT
NFTs and Secret Auctions
Learned Few more things about solidity 103.
Created an NFT and a secret auction. Excited to see where this journey leads!

Conclusion
My first week at HackQuest was packed with learning and hands-on experience. Eager for what’s next!
