Block reward is the amount cryptocurrency miners receive when they add and validate new blocks on the blockchain network. The cryptocurrency is distributed to the miners by different cryptocurrency networks.

As an example, Bitcoin miners are paid in bitcoins for their work within the Bitcoin network. The reward structure is also gradually reduced.

The rewards are then distributed equally to all miners that solve challenging mathematical puzzles to add new blocks to the blockchain.
