making tough decisions fast

Often in work and life we get stuck with a hard-to-make decision. This is a technique I have successfully used numerous times to help myself or other people. It is similar to “Descartes Square”, but I find it easier to memorize and apply.

Basically, you need to compare the best/worst possible outcomes of your action/inaction.

For example, the community has requested you to give 5 minutes “lightning talk”, but you are afraid and unsure. Let’s fill the table below.

Hopefully that technique might save you some time when you need to make a tough decision next time.
