Talk 2 Title: Automating social media content with Python and Mako by Lais Carvalho
As someone who works a lot with communities, I have more Twitter accounts than I can count. Add the weekly events, blog posts, and emails we have to deal with - I call it "the Copy & Paste ritual" and any sort of effective management can get close to impossible.
With that in mind, I've decided to write a script to generate all social media content for weekly events I have been running for one community.
The project consists of a folder with templates, and a script. Running the script generates all the content to be posted on the weekly social media channels and I regained my rights to have a movie night on Sunday evenings!
About Lais Carvalho
Lais Carvalho is an excited Developer Advocate and an adventurous Python enthusiast. With a background in Engineering, Lais moved to Dublin (Ireland) 6 years ago from Brazil and is about to graduate in IT. Lais loves yoga, chocolates and chatbots.
