Hi All 👋,
I am a stay-at-home mom of a 4 years old toddler, and I started to learn to code when my daughter was 2 years old.
As a self-taught, it was a tough and lonely journey.
No one to ask when I have questions, no one to share when imposter syndrome hits. It was only me and Google.
I took a half-year break from learning due to life.
But then I decided to get back and be more active on Twitter by learning in public through #100DaysofCode.
One thing leads to another, I found this community, which now is more like a family to me, Virtual Coffee.
I have found my safe place and a great support system in my journey. They guide me to grow, develop myself, allow me to contribute and help with what I can give.
Even though I am a newbie, they treat me equally which makes me feel I'm not an “outsider” from being a beginner.
And since then, in less than 6 months:
- I contributed for the first time to an open-source.
- I get out of my comfort zone and started writing blog posts, an idea that was dusting in my bucket list.
- Start to get recognized from my writings 👇
- Three of my articles got chosen by CodeNewbie and made through their newsletter.
I never knew that I could do these things and grow so much before I met Virtual Coffee. And I am looking forward to achieving much more with them by my side.
