Hello 👋🏻,
I want to start my "Week in Review" series on dev.to 🥳. There's already my weekly newsletter, but E-Mail does not work for everybody. So, let's start something new is what I thought.
Let's try this.
Hopefully, the last week was an awesome one like mine. I got to know some of my Twitter friends better. The community is just 🔥.
Besides getting lots of chat notifications 😅, I found and tested some fancy tools this week. AND I published my second article on dev.to 🚀: "Scrape Tweets from Twitter profiles without using Twitter's API." 🐦 Enjoy reading, maybe it is something for you. Feedback is highly appreciated.
⛓Things I learned, found and tried in week 20/20 🔧
- I know CSS magicians 🧙🏻♂️🧙🏻♀️ like Jhey can do crazy things with CSS, but seeing how a single div can look like is still just 🤯
- This is sometimes red 🔴and sometimes blue 🔵, not more 😂.
- Everybody is using carbon these days to create fancy screenshots of their code. Did you know you can also create code snaps right inside VS Code with the CodeSnap extension?
- Create WAI-ARIA compliant React autosuggest component with react-autosuggest (by the way moroshko is looking for maintainers)
- SEO Protips - Do you know how healthy your site is? No? Then check out Google's "Web Vitals" page and install their WebVitals Chrome extension (beta).
- In case you missed it -> Deno 1.0 landed (What is Deno?). Francesco shows you how to use Deno with Docker.
- I might not be the only one fooling with virtual backgrounds on Zoom. Here's a site full of fancy backgrounds for you: https://www.zoombackground.io/
- Definitely on my list for this week Color Ninja. Jhey used it this week in his live stream on Twitch and it just looks 🔥! This is a Color Schemer and Palette Manager on steroids - Absolutely! CSS magicians going to love it.
- Speaking of falling in love, this happens to me with TailwindCSS right now. Creating beautiful pages is just incredibly easy with Tailwind. Give it a try. And here's a tool for creating Grids with Tailwind for your start. Chris Dixon explains in one of his latest videos how to get started with Tailwind.
Do you have fancy tools you want to share with me? I'm always ready to try new things! Just comment below, mention me on Twitter, or send me a DM. That would be awesome. 🥳
See you next week - same place, same platform. 👋🏻
Thank you,
Stefan
