LED display screen is a high-tech product that has attracted much attention. It uses computer control to integrate light and electricity into an intelligent full-color display screen that has been widely used in various fields. Its pixels are arranged in an array using LED light-emitting diodes to form an LED screen. Through different LED driving methods, images with different effects can be obtained. Therefore, the quality of LED driver chips is crucial to the display quality of LED displays. LED driver chips are usually divided into general-purpose chips and special-purpose chips.

General-purpose chips are usually used in low-end products of LED displays, such as indoor single-color and dual-color screens. Among them, the most commonly used general-purpose chip is 74HC595, which has 8-bit latch, serial-parallel shift register and three-state output functions. Each channel outputs a maximum non-constant current of 35mA. Here are 4 common sense about LED display chips.

Since LED is a current characteristic device, under the premise of saturated conduction, its brightness changes with the change of current and does not change with the change of voltage at both ends. The main feature of the dedicated chip is to provide constant current source output to ensure stable driving of the LED and eliminate the flickering phenomenon of the LED. This chip has the characteristics of large output current and constant current, and is suitable for occasions requiring large current and high image quality, such as outdoor full-color screens and indoor full-color screens. What is the difference between indoor LED display and outdoor LED display?

The LED display driver chip series includes SMT5026, which has built-in CMOS shift register and latch functions to convert serial input data into parallel output data format.

Display unit

This is the main part of the LED display screen, which is composed of luminescent materials and drive circuits. Indoor screens are composed of unit display panels of various specifications, while outdoor screens are composed of unit boxes. Teach you 10 guidelines for buying indoor LED displays.

main controller

The function of the main controller is to buffer, grayscale conversion, reorganize the input RGB digital video signal, and generate various control signals.

switching power supply

The function of the switching power supply is to convert 220V AC power into various DC power for use in various circuits.

transmission cable

The display data and various control signals generated by the main controller are transmitted to the screen body through twisted pair cables.

Scan controller

The function of the scan controller is to buffer data and generate various scan signals and duty cycle grayscale control signals.

Dedicated display card and multimedia card (video card)

In addition to the basic functions of a computer display card, the LED full-color screen dedicated display card also outputs digital RGB signals and horizontal, field, blanking and other signals to the main controller at the same time. In addition to the above functions, the multimedia card can also convert the input analog Video signal into a digital RGB signal (i.e. video capture).
