Among the many outdoor LED displays installed by SoStron, many customers are concerned about how to adjust the brightness of the LED display. Some customers reported that the display screen was not bright enough during the day and the effect was not good. In fact, SoStron had already set up the display to automatically adjust the brightness at the beginning of the installation. In order to comply with national regulations on light pollution, it did not set the brightness too high. Change the current of the LED: Adjust the brightness by changing the current flowing through the LED tube. The continuous operating current of an ordinary LED tube is about 20 mA, and the brightness of the LED is basically proportional to the current flowing through it. Although this method is simple, as the requirements for large LED screens increase, it is no longer suitable for fast and precise adjustment. Here's what you need to know about nit brightness.

Pulse width modulation (PWM): Uses a changing frequency that can be perceived by the human eye to achieve grayscale control by changing the width of light pulses. This method achieves grayscale control by periodically changing the width of the light pulse, that is, the duty cycle. As long as this lighting cycle is short enough (that is, the refresh frequency is high enough), the human eye will not feel the luminous pixels shaking. Since PWM is more suitable for digital control, it has been widely used.

Control system: The LED control system usually consists of three parts: the main control box, the scanning board and the display and control installation. The main control box obtains the brightness data of each color from the computer display card and transmits the signal to the LED screen through the scanning board. There are currently two common methods of serially transmitting display control signals: one is to collectively control the grayscale of each pixel on the scanning board, using pulse width modulation. Another method is that the scanning board serially transmits an 8-bit binary brightness value. Each LED has its own pulse width modulator to control the lighting time, thereby achieving 256 levels of grayscale control. Take you 5 minutes to understand the LED display control system.
