Following the arrest of Telegram Founder Pavel Durov in France, Toncoin (TON) has suffered a significant price drop. Durov faces 12 charges, including failing to combat crime on Telegram and aiding drug trafficking. Arrested at Le Bourget airport, Durov’s detention has been extended to 96 hours, with a decision on charges expected soon.
Toncoin, closely linked to Telegram, has seen its value fall as a result. Once a top-performing token, TON has dropped 5.98% to $5.52, with its market cap down 5.08%. The token’s trading volume has also decreased by 66.50% in the past 24 hours, now at $938 million.
This downturn affects other TON ecosystem tokens, such as Notcoin (NOT) and Hamster Kombat (HMSTR). Notcoin has dropped 7.61% to $0.008755, while Hamster Kombat is down 6.83% to $0.367113. The ongoing uncertainty and potential sanctions could further impact these assets.
