liner notes:
- Saturday : Did the show remotely from my van again this week, since there was a basket ball game. This time, my cohost called in and we did the show together. Good times! The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com
Sunday : The study sessions at https://untilit.works started off kind of slow because it was rainy and cloudy. But by the end of it, I added a video player to my side project to test that the livestreaming setup I made to stream from my glasses to my site worked! Got to demo it in one of the break sessions. I also added an admin route and got it hooked up to the backed end so that I can pass in a credential and get back whether the person is an Admin or not. Then I ended the night watching an episode of "Rurouni Kenshin".
Professional : Started the week off with a couple of team meetings to catch up and talk about the upcoming week. Spent the rest of the day speaking with folks from the community and about the Web Components. Also did some updating of dependencies for the Web Components and demos. Nothing that had to do with the functionality of the Web Components, just stuff used to showcase them.
Personal : Feeling pretty good about my new side project / proof of concept. I'm doing everything from the browser. It's working out pretty well. I write my code in the browser, see the changes in the browser, push the code to my repo in the browser and the site is built in the cloud. Supa Dynamite! (904! Duuuuuvaaaaal!) I'll definitely be doing my future side projects this way and even some of the current ones that I'm making changes to. I think I won't even need to carry my Chromebook with me anymore. Even if the site that I'm using to code isn't available for some reason, there are others and I can even make some changes in GitHub itself.
While doing work, I missed a notification about a laptop I'm looking at was made available for pre-order. I didn't even know until I got another one while on break saying they sold out. After work, I got another notification that they have more, but it's not the model I want. I'm definitely keeping an eye on it and refreshing the page to see if it becomes available. Along with that, I'm going to add nanostores to my project so that I can keep the state between different components. I normally use what comes with Svelte, but I'm going to try to get this stuff working without needing Svelte. After that, I'll work on adding authentication with Appwrite. I've never used them before, but it seems pretty straight forward. Been learning a lot with this project that I can take into future ones. After that, I'm looking to watch an episode of"Rurouni Kenshin" and call it a night.
Have a great night!
peace piece
